Melissa + Brian • Central New Jersey Wedding Photographers
Melissa and Brian were married on a cloudy, humid Saturday in Mount Laurel, NJ. The forecasts were horrendous, but somehow, the weather held off throughout the day and we didn’t see a drop of rain. Melissa got ready at the Hotel ML, where she put on her Maggie Sottero dress and her jewelry, which was made up of family heirlooms. It’s a tradition in her family for the girls to wear their grandma’s pearl necklace on their wedding day, her Nanny’s pearl bracelet, mother’s earrings, handbag from her aunt and godmother, and a handkerchief brought over from Italy by her great grandmother. Melissa then took a (surprise) limo over to Laurel Creek Country Club, while her bridal party followed in a yellow school bus. Melissa and Brian saw each other for the first time on a bridge behind the Laurel Creek clubhouse – a sweet moment for this couple. Family and bridal party photos were taken on the bridge, and everyone headed inside to cool off before the outdoor ceremony. The ceremony went off without a hitch, with Brian’s own father presiding over it. Quite emotional, he directed the couple through their vows, and the couple sealed their marriage with a passionate kiss. As cocktail hour began, Melissa and Brian took a few minutes to go off to the green of the 18th hole for newlywed portraits, and then it was reception time. Everyone was in high spirits throughout the reception, with nearly everyone dancing. Disney music accompanied the dinner to compliment the couple’s Disney history (Brian proposed on Splash Mountain – my personal favorite ride in Magic Kingdom!). Near the end of the evening the couple cut their cake (with a Minnie and Micky Mouse cake topper) and promptly smashed it in each other’s faces. We snuck out for one last photo in front of the clubhouse, and then the evening concluded. Melissa and Brian were so great to work with, and their smiles never faded, despite rainy forecasts and the sweltering heat! What a wonderful couple, and what a fun wedding! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two.
